1850 Italianate Farmhouse

Hillsborough, New Jersey

We worked with the client to reorganize the entire site. The 1850 Italianate farmhouse was restored and expanded as the centerpiece of the renewed estate. We laid out an entrance sequence, a parking area, front and back yards, a riding arena and horse pastures. A relocated New Jersey barn terminates the farm lane. It offers extra living and entertainment space, an office, and stables in the cellar. Another small stable was moved and expanded to include a garage.

The house now includes a master suite with iron balcony and back stair, an indoor lap pool, and expanded kitchen and mud room.
