This fine 1905 stucco house suffered from a poorly designed and constructed kitchen addition. We designed a second-floor master suite and first-floor kitchen and family room in its place. A two-story bay window links the interior to the back yard terrace. Inside, we planned a zone of ancillary services, including a rear mud room, powder room, laundry, pantry, and potting area. Daylight views and materials were carefully planned. We worked intensively with the homeowner, especially on the details of the kitchen, which has proved to be extremely popular on Houzz.
